Model Manatee

 

Program Mission 

To cultivate civic understanding, engagement, and leadership among Manatee County youth through experiential learning and direct interaction with local government. 

Purpose: 

  • Learn how county government works 

  • Meet County Commissioners and government professionals 

  • Explore County departments 

  • Participate in workshops and discussions 

  • Develop leadership and public speaking skills 

  • Participate in a mock Board of County Commissioners meeting 

Who Can Apply? 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Completed 10th grade 

  • Manatee County resident 

  • Full-time enrollment in a public, private, or home education program in Manatee County 

  • Attend all required sessions 

  • Submit a complete application 

  • Parent/guardian consent if under 18 

Application Process 

  1. Review eligibility requirements. 

  2. Complete the online application at this link

  3. Submit all required documents. 

  4. Await notification of selection.
